In the Fig. 1 the energies of positive and negative parity levels of the ground-state band of zzsTh and zz8Th are compared with different model predictions. The former turns out to be close to the results we obtain for a critical-point potential, while the latter is closer to those obtained with a quadratic potential. Relative values of experimental transition strengths, B(E1) and B(E2) have also been calculated and compared with existing experimental data. The results can be found in the Ref. [21].
